Unlike a wide range of industries that have suffered severe losses due to the restrictions imposed to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, movie production companies were perfectly capable of surviving this rough period. And, what’s even better, we can expect some pretty interesting new titles throughout the year. At the same time, the popularity of various online streaming platforms is going through the roof, and the number of new subscriptions is constantly on the rise. If official statistics are to be trusted, the movies based on true stories, thrillers, and romantic comedies are among the most wanted on each of those platforms. Consequently, we decided to conduct thorough research and come up with a list of the most anticipated movies of the current year. In front of you lies a list of titles that are surely going to make you think, laugh, and dream. So take a look!
The Matrix 4
Not so many movies, or movie trilogies, have left such an important mark both on the movie industry and the popular culture. In an imaginary hall of fame, dedicated to the most influential and intriguing movies of our time, The Matrix trilogy isn’t just another name on the wall. It is a masterpiece that deserves an entire section. With that in mind, it is not such a huge surprise that both the critics and the public were exhilarated to hear that, by the end of the year, they can expect to see the Matrix 4. The list of actors remains mostly unchanged, with some interesting new faces. If everything goes as planned, the movie will be premiered in the second part of December. All things considered, it is going to be a rather exciting winter.
James Bond 007: No Time to Die
The James Bond series is one of those rare projects that were capable of surviving the ruthless test of time. Over the last four decades, James Bond movies have attracted hundreds of millions of viewers throughout the world. The most famous spy of Her Royal Majesty was played by some of the most talented actors both from the United States and from Great Britain. Therefore, we have no reason to doubt that the newest sequel will keep us on the edge of the seat. Once again, the clever agent will be played by Daniel Craig. And, based on what we’ve seen in the previous installments, he will probably be accompanied by well-picked and beautiful actresses and models. Perhaps even one of those who work for renowned model agencies such as MGM (check mmgtalent.com), but we’ve already said too much. According to sources close to the production team, this will be his last mission in the franchise. Unless some unpredictable circumstances cause delays, the movie is supposed to be premiered by the end of April.
Godzilla VS Kong
Fans of science fiction, superheroes, and epic battles can count on a wide range of interesting movies, as well. One of the first titles that are going to blow them away is the clash between the mighty Godzilla and the seemingly gentle giant from the tropical jungle, King Kong. The movie will take us deeper into the story about the titans and their human contemporaries. And, since stars such as Millie Bobby Brown and Alexander Skarsgard will play the main roles, you can rest assured that we are up for a breathtaking spectacle.
Mission: Impossible 7
You are probably aware of the fact that in the diary of the special agent Ethan Hunt there is no such word as impossible. However, the movie that tells the story of the cunning spy still has it in its title, just so you know that a whole lot of action is coming your way. Just like before, the movie is full of fire, shooting, car chases, motorbike riders, and exploding bridges. And the globally popular Tom Cruise will work side by side with Hollywood veterans such as Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Ving Rhames, and Esai Morales. According to sources close to the production team, the movie should be available for live stream by the end of March.
The Beatles: Get Back
By the end of August, fans of good music and one of the most successful bands of all time will be able to enjoy a movie about the Beatles. After They Shall Not Grow Old, the colorized story of the horrors and suffering of the first world war, director Peter Jackson is taking on a new challenge. Based on the accounts of the members that are still alive, he will document the making of Let It Be. If we have in mind that this is one of the best albums recorded in the 1970s, we have all the rights to hope that the move will mark the 2020s.
Raya and the Last Dragon
And, if you thought that our selection will lack top-quality animated movies suitable for the youngest of spectators, think again. Directly from the well-renowned cartoon factory Mouse House comes a rather interesting title. Raya, a young girl living in the kingdom of Kumandra, a planet inhabited by an exotic civilization, will do her best to find the last living dragon. Unfortunately, this task will be everything but easy, and evil Druun monsters will try hard to make her life as difficult as possible. One of this year’s most anticipated fantasies is filled with top-level animations, highly-engaging soundtracks, and unpredictable plot twists.
Top Gun: Maverick
Another delicacy for all the fans of action and war movies comes in the form of a Top Gun sequel. Even though he is now much older, and consequently, much more experienced, Tom Cruise is still one of the most skillful and cunning pilots in the military. And, what’s even more important, he is still all about speed, adventure, and gravity-defying stunts. Together with Miles Teller, Ed Harris, Jennifer Connelly, and Val Kilmer, he will take you on an adventure of a lifetime. According to the actor himself, this will be better than anything you’ve ever seen in the movie industry.
