[THIS COMPETITION IS NOW CLOSED] Formula 1 drivers and team principals have again offered their best photographic efforts to raise money for charity at the Zoom auction event.

The initiative, which is now in its fifth year, will auction the images on behalf of the Starlight Children’s Foundation and offers a snapshot into the lives and interests of F1 racers, and those of their team bosses, as the series of signed pictures were taken by all of the drivers from the 2016 season.

Lewis Hamilton’s 2017 submission is a photo of the sun setting over the paradise islands of Turks and Caicos, Max Verstappen took a snap of his training views over Monaco, Felipe Massa presents a selfie with Jenson Button that he took at Monza last season, and Carlos Sainz offers a picture of two playful meerkats.

The prints provided by all of the F1 drivers and team bosses will be auctioned off by Coys in the ballroom at the InterContinental Park Lane hotel in London on 3 February.

For more information on the 2017 Zoom auction, please click here.

Here are some of the images:

Lewis Hamilton: “Powerful Beyond Measure. An image of a stunning sunset on the beautiful islands of Turks and Caicos. Shot during the 2016 Formula One Summer Break.”

Felipe Massa: “Me and Jenson during the drivers parade in Monza, where I announced my retirement from Formula One. We’ve been racing together for almost 15 years now! I will definitely miss going wheel-to-wheel with him.”

Is young Max overlooking the Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat peninsula by any chance? When I was in Nice last summer, I was reading in French newspaper 𝘓'𝘌𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘱𝘦 that on the tiny peninsula where ex GP racer Carlos Reutemann used to live, a house called"Le Cedres" is up for sale, asking price, 1 Billion Euros.......yes, 1 BILLION Euros.

And everyone thinks grand prix racing is full of decadent capitalist pigs - there's decadent and there's 𝘦𝘺𝘦 𝘣𝘭𝘦𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘤𝘢𝘱𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘵 𝘥𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦..........

2

Felipe Massa: “Me and Jenson during the drivers parade in Monza, where I announced my retirement from Formula One"

"Until that bloody Rosberg decided to retire and screw up all my plans".

On a side note, does anyone know who'll be first team to show off their new car and what the date is? Usually quite early on, isn't it?

3

Cheers. A few weeks still to hold off then!

4

"Until that bloody Rosberg decided to retire and screw up all my plans".

I wonder what if anything Massa's wife has to say in the matter?
On another tack, when you are wanted, you are in a position to ask for things - wonder what would be worth asking for in Massa's case?

5

I expect you'll have had your answer by now, but incase not:

Feb 22 Force India
Feb 23 Mercedes AMG
Feb 24 Scuderia Ferrari.

Those are the only ones announced so far as I know.

6

Add:
Renault has become the fourth Formula 1 team to reveal the launch date of its 2017 Formula 1 car.

The French squad will unveil its new RS.17 on February 21, ahead of the other three teams - Ferrari, Mercedes and Force India - to have announced their launch plans.

Rob in Victoria BC

'The Scuderia's new machine will be officially unveiled on February 24 at their private Fiorano test circuit, with the team having scheduled two filming days over which to run their car.', from Formula 1 site. Ferrari will be the first to unveil.

8

Force India 22nd Feb at Silverstone media day
Mercedes 23rd Feb at Silverstone media day .
Ferrari late Feb when Marchionne and FIA have had their start of the season rule changes and tech debrief. Incase they need a helping hand [Mod]

9

You mean when the system in question contravening the rules is rightly banned.

10

Massa grinning like he's been regenerated into Doctor Who.... the worst Dr.Who played by Sylvestor McCoy.

On the subject of cameras, Eddie Jordan's musings, KC's insights and David Coulthard impossibly tight trousers will be live this year on C4 at BAH, RUS, MON, AZER, GB, BEL, SING, MAL, US and UAE. Barcelona, Budapest and Monza have been dropped from the European roster, while the long distance fly away events of Japan and Mexico have been canned.........

Thing is, you'd have to say, taken in the round, a dry race in Barcelona, the Hungaroring or even Monza tends to be disappointingly processional these days - all 3 circuits in recent years have been resurfaced giving fantastic grip even on Friday's when the circuit is not rubbered in. And with rock hard durable rubber scheduled for this year not to mention the dreaded "dirty air" which is going to be worse than ever thanks to massive "barn door" rear wings generating huge amounts of aerodynamic buffeting, those 3 events plus Mexico are likely to be (if dry and sunny) follow my leader dullards............I think Channel 4 have got it almost right (apart from they should have swapped AZER for CAN).
