This edition of F1 Tweets of the Week covers the New Year celebrations and the conclusion of the Christmas holidays before the teams and drivers headed back to work ahead of the 2016 season.

Several drivers hit the gym to prepare for the mammoth 21-race calendar that awaits F1 this year, the world champion celebrated his birthday and tributes were paid following the passing of one of the sport’s famous names.

It was all captured on social media, so here are the JAonF1 team’s top picks:

As the F1 circus got back to work after the Christmas break Red Bull and Lotus (soon to be Renault) captured the sun rising over their factories as the push to start the season began.

Valtteri Bottas hit the gym as he kicked off his winter training with some circuit training at his fitness camp…

… while Lewis Hamilton managed to make training look stylish…

Carlos Sainz put effort ahead of fashion…

… and Nico Hulkenberg’s trademark selfie returned as he trained in Miami before the new year.

New Year, new team: Romain Grosjean marked his first day as a Haas F1 driver.

Mercedes celebrated Hamilton’s birthday this week by remembering some of his best moments with the German squad.

Shortly before the New Year celebrations, Max Verstappen got some unusual driving practice in.

And finally, McLaren led tributes to co-founder Tyler Alexander after his death aged 75.

Sorry that something went wrong, repeat again!

Had to lol at some of the pics at the drivers. While I’m sure they’re super fit, you forget how weedy they are with the race suits on. They look like they could be snapped in half by some of the big burly guys at my gym haha.

Put your t-shirt on the right way round Romain Grosjean

Lewis looks like he’s not backing off even though he’s reached his lifetime target of 3 WDC.

Poor Nico will be devastated ifLewis just starts winning again straight away this year, especially after getting his hopes up at the end of last year.

And if Ferrari are closer this year and they do go for one main driver at Mercedes then the proven track record seems like a safe bet. There’s more to winning than talented driving…….bottle is what Lewis has and Nico lacks.

trust hamilton to style it out, like he does everything else…

Max looks a bit out of sorts on the Camel 😀

Doing an impression of Dora The Explorer !

R.I.P Tyler Alexander Mclaren Legend

Wheres is a piece on Maria Teresa de Filippis ?

She is missing here and Joe Saward describes her as attractive, come on!!!!!!

Kind regards!

Could not have said it better, myself!

Yes saw that on Joe Saward.

Few racing legends have kicked the bucket this month…sadly.
