Caterham F1 Team have restructured their technical team with Jody Egginton and John Iley taking on more responsibilities as the outfit look to make gains next season when the regulations change significantly. Performance director Iley will see his role expanded to oversee a new Advanced Projects Group which will focus on future innovation that can be applied to the F1 team as well as Caterham’s automotive and technological interests. Caterham F1 team today confirmed that they will use the Renault engine for the next three seasons. They join Red Bull and Toro Rosso on the Renault roster. Lotus F1 team is expected to use the Renault unit too, but that deal has not yet been agreed. Renault sources suggest that this should be done in the near future. Caterham today launched a new road car project, the AeroSeven Concept at the Singapore Grand Prix as it pushes ahead with its ambition to build links between its F1 team and its road cars. The idea is for the first AeroSeven models to be delivered to customers at the end of 2014. This is not the car being developed in conjunction with Renault’s Alpine brand.
