A selection of amazing items of F1 memorabilia, including a pair of Ayrton Senna’s gloves, donated by his friend Jo Ramirez, Jenson Button’s race seat and a Sebastian Vettel steering wheel will go under the hammer at the Motor Sports Hall of Fame evening on Monday 25th February at the Royal Opera House London. A unique collection of sought-after Formula 1 memorabilia and experiences, including Ayrton Senna’s racing gloves from his 1991 championship-winning year and Jenson Button’s race seat from this year’s Australian GP, are to be auctioned off in the New Year to raise money for the Grand Prix Mechanics Charitable Trust. The Grand Prix Mechanics Charitable Trust has launched a new area on its website, exclusively for former and current F1 mechanics to chat online and swap photos and stories. The new area of the website is open to current or past F1 mechanics, who have registered with the Trust. Called ‘The Garage’, it is a private area where mechanics, past and present, can find old friends and colleagues, interact and reminisce or plan meet ups.
