Key representatives from Formula 1 teams will again come face to face with the fans of the sport this evening (Wednesday) when the latest FOTA Fans’ Forum takes place in Barcelona.

Following on from successful events over the past two seasons in the UK, Montreal and Milan, Spanish F1 fans are now getting their chance to put their questions and points of view direct to the men at the heart of the sport.

And were are delighted to announce that you can follow what is again likely to be a wide-ranging and lively debate on all aspects of the sport right here live on JA on F1 with a feed direct from the event at the Real Automobil Club de Catalunya on Wednesday, which begins at 6.30pm GMT the night before the final pre-season test in the same city.

Once more the Fans’ Forum will feature a high-profile panel including the body’s vice chairman and Lotus team principal Eric Boullier, Mercedes motorsport president Norbert Haug and McLaren managing director Jonathan Neale.

Despite having left FOTA at the end of last year, a Ferrari representative in the form of tester Marc Gene will also be in attendance, along with active drivers Vitaly Petrov (Caterham), Pastor Maldonado (Williams) and Spanish HRT driver Pedro de la Rosa.

So plenty of reason to tune into the website tonight from 6.30pm! We’ll have a live feed, supplied to us from Spain and we are promised live simultaneous translation!

I have a sneaky feeling the first question will be all about the Mona Lisas we are blessed with on the grid this year —> And rightly so.

Meanwhile since these events are pretty much broadcast world wide, they should be conducted in English, we wouldn’t want anything to get lost in translation.

Okay, so we have been to the UK, Italy, Canada & now Spain with the fans forum —> Next stop Germany methinks!

  2. Rob Newman says:

Marc Gene representing Ferrari? What a laugh!

    1. madmax says:

He has been their test driver nearly a decade

  3. Craig Humphreys says:

Looking forward to it but unfortunately I’ll be travelling. Any chance it will be available later on demand?

PS To be pedantic, I hope you’ve been promised simultaneous interpretation! (It’s my job: interpreting, not being pedantic…)

  4. Ayrton Mansell says:

Ferrari and McLaren have it all to do, the truth will be in the points and only results will show how close they will be to Vettel in 2012. Soon it will be Melbourne and the show will start, personaly I think Jens, Alonso and Hamilton, Webber will be second placers for most of the season. Prove me wrong!!

  5. Mon Pen says:

If Defeating have bailed out of FOTA why are they sending a representative? Oh let me guess, is it because of this tiresome “historic contribution” nonsense? How long before this relic of an argument can be binned once and for all. Whatever. I hope to live long enough to see the likes of Marussia getting star treatment for their historic contribution 50 years from now.

    1. Kevin Green says:

      poppycock!

      1. Grayzee (Australia) says:

        +1 :-)

  6. Mon Pen says:

D’oh! Predictive text. “Ferrari” became “defeating”. Some wag at Android clearly has a sense of humour!

  7. Piet Coetzer says:

    Hi James,
We’re attending the Canadian grand prix. will there be a Fota Fans forum in Montreal this year and how do one go about to attend?

    1. James Allen says:

I don’t know about Montreal this year. Will check with FOTA, certainly one in Austin looks a good idea

      1. Steve C says:

One here in Austin, we fans down here will be there. Thanks James. See you in November or sooner…

  8. Rich C says:

LOL Took me the longest time to figure out what that FOTA logo was!

  9. jpinx says:

Hi James – good work! Can we have an .mp4 of this for download please?

  10. madmax says:

Great job James. It is ironic though that the Barcelona circuit should be hailed as a great track by one of the people representing the sport at a Fan forum when virtually every fan for the last 15 years hates the place as it always gives the most boring race of the year.
