The final Grand Prix of 2011 is upon us and so far only seven drivers have stood on the podium this year, tying the record for the lowest number ever.
They are Sebastian Vettel, Mark Webber, Jenson Button, Lewis Hamilton, Fernando Alonso, Vitaly Petrov and Nick Heidfeld.
Amazingly neither of the Mercedes drivers have been up there and nor has Felipe Massa.
Will that still be the case on Sunday or will one of those faces or a new face appear on the podium, especially is we get one of those rain affected Brazilian classics?
And what does it say about the competitive balance within F1 that the top five drivers have so dominated the season?
As a final competition of the season, we are asking you to predict the three names who will be standing on the podium on Sunday.
The first three correct answers – posted in the comments section below before 2pm Brazil time on Sunday when the race starts – will win a signed copy of the JA on F1 2011 season review book “Vettel Steals the Show”.

James, Do you think that the incredible reliability the top cars have had has had a factor in this? Tie this to the fact the best cars have the best drivers as well and this is the result. I do find it surprising the the mercs have not made it on to the podium once!

Its going to be a wet race!
Hamilton will do a Hamilton [probably with Massa]
Schui will prevail in a better balanced Mercedes and show he can stillget onto the podium.
But Webber will hang in there for 2nd while Vettel comes to grief somewhere along the way.
Naturally, smooth driving Button, will handle the rain very well and make it to the checked flag first.

just an observation: I am surprised that more people havnt got Button in their list – more seem to think Hamilton will do better. We know how well Button has performed in the wet conditions this season.

Indeed. What’s the point of saying “The competition is open to anyone anywhere in the world to enter.” and then limit it to the _first_ 3 right answers?
Anyone not in the right timezone to be awake enough answer with an obvious 3-of-5 reply in the first 10 minutes of the competition is clearly not going to win!
A lottery of all correct answers out of a hat would be more appropriate for an international competition.
Anyway, assuming the rules stay as they are I may as well go out on a limb:
