We’ve been running a competition in conjunction with our friends at Shell, to find a Fan Ambassador to go to Abu Dhabi a week after the Grand Prix, to experience the amazing Ferrari World theme park and get a taste of the Yas Marina GP circuit in a racing car literally days after the F1 Grand Prix and the Young Guns F1 test.

The winner will take part in the Shell V Power Network of Champions event in November, meet fans from other countries around the world and will get to write and produce content on his or her experience, which we will publish here on JA on F1.

From the initial group of entries, the five finalists have been chosen. Each of them wins a tank full of Shell V Power or Shell V Power Diesel and the chance to show us what they can do by producing a 30-60 second video, which they should post on You Tube, that encapsulates their passion for power and performance. It can be done on a Flip Camera, video, or can even be a photo slideshow, it’s up to the finalists to use their imagination.

They must send us a link to the video no later than 23rd October.

All entries will be hosted here on JA on F1 from 24-31 October and the winner will be selected by a panel of bloggers and social media gurus who have been taking part in the SVP Champs programme this year.

The five finalists are (using their JA on F1 sign in names):

Jamie Cottage
Herowassenna
Rachel (Rachelcgen)
Tom Wilkinson
Gareth

Good luck to them.

It’s sad that people outside UK never has the chance at competitions like this. With that said, I still wish the eventual winner a very nice time, and I’m looking forward to hear about it.

    Hello James!

Sorry off topic. Any news on the BBC/Sky deal? Everyone is extremely quiet about it.

Have you got any inside knowledge of whats going on…

    Thanks in advance,
    Rich

It’s a done deal isn’t it? Half the races live on BBC with the other half shown in full later that day…… Interesting hwo this will work. If BBC picks the races outside of the UK timezone (Japan, Korea, Australia etc), showing them later in the day will actually be better than live for the majority! What does SKY gain from that?

Either way Murdoch won’t get a single penny from me. I’ve seen SKY Sports coverage and it makes me shudder. The disgusting way they handled the loss of D Wheldon was insulting but in no way unexpected. You would imagine that the BBC would have at least remianed on air for the tribute laps rather than cut away to another sport.

    Hello James,
I have been trying to send you an email re: the youtube link, embed code, and my address for fuel competition etc but it keeps being returned as quota exceeded. Is this link on here sufficient or could you email me directly for me to try again
    Thanks
