Not a serious posting with any great insight into the Honda negotiations, but just a photo someone sent me with an advert for Virgin Trains, which I absolutely love! It shows that Branson has a great sense of humour. We could do with a bit more of this kind of thing in F1.

Branson has a sense of humour alright. He thinks its funny to make people think he’s interested in buying something just for some free publicity. Remember Northern Rock, and now Honda F1!
Well done Richard i’m so glad you find peoples livelyhoods something to take the p**s out of
Sad man with a beard

Very funny. Even out here in the Canadian colonies I get the joke. Branson seems to be taking a lot of stick for his publicity efforts. Bottom line is he’s extremely good at promoting the Virgin brand . . . and keeping all his employees working. That’s why he’s Richard Branson and I’m not.

According to Virgin group website he/they employee 50,000 people worldwide. It’s his duty to promote the brand and keep them all working.

Love the joke about Virgin buying Honda F1…….I wonder if the 700+ employees get the joke too. Probably not when the pay cheques stop and the bills keep coming, but never mind we all love Virgin don’t we ?
Great job Richard !

Jeff it was Virgin initially that put the rumour in the public domain, and Honda merely confirmed it. And Steve Clarke I absolutely agree with your comments about publicity for Virgin, but does anyone think that doing it off the back of peoples misery in losing their jobs is the best way? Surely a man like Branson should have higher standards than that. Publicity like that is cynical, and will lead to a backlash at some point…. I hope

I think that HONDA Team will use BRITISH AIRWAYS when they travel.
They don’t need a cheap looser like branson.
